"LIVING HIS DREAM" Cuban refugee, Thai boxer
adds another title to his collection.
When
Raul Llopis says he’ll fight anyone, anywhere, anytime – he means
it. A five-time world champion in four different weight classes
(ranging from 128 lbs. to 140 lbs.) and a record of 35-8 with 19
wins by way of knockout, Llopis has had his share of battles in and
outside of the ring.
Las Vegas,
Nevada is the world's undisputed center for Professional Fighting.
The Nevada State Athletic Commission is pleased to introduce:
THE
XTREME FIGHTING ASSOCIATION (XFA)
This is a new K-1 Rules Professional Fight Promotion Company, based
in Las Vegas, is ready to make it debut on April 19, 2008. It's
venues will include the Cox Pavillion on the UNLV Campus, and the
Thomas and Mack Center. The XFA is fueled by FAIRTEX Muay Thai as
its main sponsor and operations partner.
The
XFA is holding a Casting Call to build its initial Fighter Stable.
Tryouts will be held on Janaury 19, 2008, in Las Vegas. This is an
excellent ground floor opportunity to fight in the limelight with a
Promotion that is moving forward with a lot of resources and
backing. Fighters in these events will enjoy rapid exposure of their
skills, since all events will have Pay-per-View coverage, and as
such, will provide the fighters with wide open windows of
opportunity to move up the ladder rapidly. These opportunities are
especially lucrative for good stand-up fighters that perhaps have
not adapted well to groundfighting on the current MMA scene.

"For anyone who has taken the written test Ajarn Chai gives at his
Oregon Thai Boxing Training Camp, Rick Faye is a name to be familiar
with. As one of 6 regional directors for the Thai Boxing
Association, Rick Faye is the correct answer to the question “Who is
the regional director for the North Central region?”. Fortunately,
for many of us in the midwest, we have also had the
opportunity to train under and learn from Kuhn Kru Rick Faye."...
